TeenSmart provides mental health coaching and support to Spanish-speaking youth 10 and 24 years of age through our online services at www.jovensalud.net, and its mobile app, JovenSalud. This support is crucial at this pivotal time in their lives.

Half of all mental health disorders begin before the age of 14 (WHO, 2023), and 1 in 5 adolescents in Latin America and the Caribbean struggles with mental health issues (IDB, 2023).

This is where JovenSalud steps in and our services are free 24/7!

TeenSmart offers two online micro-courses called “Building Emotions,” These courses have been created by psychological and educational health professionals with feedback from over 1,000 adolescents across 18 Spanish-speaking countries and sponsored by AWS Health Equity Grants.

In addition to online courses, TeenSmart provides online coaching and support. The coaching service, “Looking for Advice?” allows youth to chat instantly with Joy, our chatbot, or asynchronously with health professionals. We also provide other educational support such as blogs, videos, micro-learning cues to action, a health resource directory and library.

Thank you for making our 20th Anniversary Fundraising Dinner an unforgettable success! 🎉

We have reached over 150,000 youth from 20 countries! Our services have increased the knowledge, skill and motivation of youth to make smart choices and live healthy and productive lives.

We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you who joined us for this special celebration. The night was filled with memorable moments: live music set the perfect mood, a toast in honor of our 20 years of service and impact, an exciting auction to raise funds, and we even danced the night away with a DJ!

We also shared historical memories, insights and challenges in reaching and building online health promotion services to improve young people’s emotional, physical, and mental well-being through our JovenSalud platform. It was a night to celebrate all that we’ve accomplished through the power of alliances and the flexibility of new technologies and to dream about the future.

A special moment was the recognition of Cathy Strachan Lindenberg and Rosita Solorzano, the co-founders of TeenSmart International and to thank them for their vision, work and commitment over the past 20 years. They continue to inspire us all!

Thanks to your generosity and participation, we exceeded our fundraising goals for this event, but we still have a way to go before reaching our year-end target! Your contribution will allow us to continue providing free and confidential services to young people in need. Together, we are making a difference in the lives of thousands of teens, and we’re excited to keep moving forward with your support!
