TeenSmart was awarded by PAHO

The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO-WHO) awarded TeenSmart International, for its platform jovensalud.net, as a social innovation in health for Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC).

TeenSmart was selected as one of the three winners out of 93 participants in the social innovation challenge that addresses health equity gaps in LAC.

The award was granted at the Regional Office for the Americas of theWorld Health Organization in Washington, D.C., on November 1st, as part of the “Social Innovation in Health Initiative (SIHI)”. Our Executive Director, Adriana Gómez, received the award and participated in an event that was a unique gathering of social innovators. It was a platform for discussing promising ideas and evolving models, while fostering collaboration and innovative problem-solving.

Adolescents and young people require primary prevention, health promotion, and services tailored to their needs. It has been proven that when young people feel motivated, competent and well-informed, they make smart and healthy decisions for their lives.
